"The energy transition does not have a fundamentally technical problem, but primarily an implementation problem. There is agreement on the necessity of an energy transition with the goal of net zero emissions and there is no lack of technical solutions to achieve this goal. However, as is often the case, the problems are in the details and additionally have a political and socio-economic dimension”.
Michael is working on energy models at TEP Energy with the aim of developing energy concepts at both regional and international levels, to find systemic solutions that implement a sustainable approach.
Michael studied energy and systems engineering at the University of Stuttgart and completed his PhD on algorithms for the optimisation of decentralised energy devices at the Technical University of Munich. He gained his scientific experience during numerous energy technology and energy industry projects at the Research Centre for Energy Economics. As the founder of a start-up, he generated together with his team energy-economic key indicators and advised utilities and electricity producers. He also gained industrial experience in the field of Internet-of-Things, when he led the optimisation of decentralised energy devices at Greencom Networks.
In his private life, he is currently primarily the father of two children and answers numberless and often profound "why" questions in his spare time.
