Giacomo Catenazzi
"It is my job to develop, implement and apply energy models that focus on energy needs, final energy consumption and energy efficiency at the local, regional, national as well as European levels."
Giacomo specialises in the bottom-up modelling of the building sector in Switzerland and Europe, with a focus on ex-post and ex-ante situations. One of his key competences is the programming and extension of models in accordance with the specific needs of TEP Energy's customers. He is responsible for the implementation of energy modelling and the execution of model-based studies for various public andn private-sector clients.
Giacomo Catenazzi holds a PhD from ETH Zurich, where he completed his thesis at (CEPE) in 2008. Also, at ETH Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, he completed his physics studies with his diploma thesis in theoretical physics. Before he joined TEP Energy, he was a researcher at the Centre for Energy Policy and Economics (CEPE) of ETH ZurichCEPE and an researcher at ETH Zurich.
Giacomo is interested in many things and is involved in the field of open source software and programming, for example. He finds balance in nature –, be it in the care of his own vineyard in Ticino or excursions into the world of flora and fauna.
