BMB Meeting in Delft

BMB stands for Building Market Brief. The BMB market study series lays the foundations for comparing the construction and building sectors of different European countries. Buildings account for 40% of total energy use in Europe and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions. With the transition to low-carbon solutions, the building sector will have to change drastically in the future. A major obstacle to the widespread dissemination of energy-efficient measures (by internationally active companies) is the lack of transnational comparative values. Serving improved understanding and solution finding, solid regional data and comparable quantitative indicators are needed - this is exactly what BMB delivers. Following the Building Market Brief Switzerland, the versions for Germany, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom are currently being prepared. Next up are Italy, Spain and Poland.

The BMB for the different countries is being developed in cooperation with the Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden) and with the support of Climate-KIC.
