PUEDA+: Promotion of energy efficiency in data centers and server rooms
The power requirements of data centers are steadily increasing in Switzerland, yet the existing power efficiency potential has hardly been tapped. Hence, there is still a great potential for increasing efficiency, especially in the data center infrastructure.
Various measures to increase efficiency are already known and their economical and safe implementation is possible. The aim of the PUEDA+ project is to promote above all the financial and technical measures in the IT sector to effectively use the existing efficiency potential. Financial and technical support in the planning and implementation of efficiency measures in data centers should be given to various actors with data center and server operators, such as large IT companies. The focus of the measures lies on free cooling, airflow and efficient air supply, various data center-specific measures and IT hardware optimization.
